Once in a while you may have to block specific third parties from accessing your websites. There are a number of automatic bots that crawl the Internet, for example, and create fake visits and traffic. Additionally, there are spammers who leave links to questionable sites as comments to website articles. Such things can drastically undermine your projects, since no one likes to visit an Internet site with countless fake comments, plus the increased site traffic from both spammers and bots may create high load on the web server on which your site is hosted, which may result in the site not working properly. Among the most effective solutions in such cases is to block the IP addresses which create the fake traffic, in order to make sure that the visits to your website are authentic.

IP Blocking in Website Hosting

If you have a website hosting account with our company and you want to block one or a number of IP addresses, you could use the IP Blocking tool, which is included in our in-house built Hepsia CP. By using a rather simple interface, you'll be able to prevent any IP from accessing your content even if you have never had a web hosting account before. All it takes to do this is to log inside to your Control Panel, to navigate to the IP Blocking section, to select a specific domain or subdomain from a drop-down menu and then to enter the IP address. You simply won't have to do anything complicated if you'd like to block an entire network - you'll simply have to omit the last octet, so entering 1.1.1. with a blank space after the last dot shall block the full range from 1.1.1.1 to 1.1.1.255. All blocked IPs will be listed inside the exact same section, so you will be able to remove any one of them from the blacklist with only a click.
